Private advice for a small number of families, and for the schools and institutions responsible for young people. By referral.
What this is
A confidential, ongoing relationship with families whose children are growing up with phones, platforms and AI. I draw on developmental psychology and on my research into how these systems work. Nothing about the work is published.
What it looks like in practice
We meet a few times a year, with shorter exchanges in between. Each meeting starts from whatever the family is dealing with at the time: a platform that has become a worry, a change of school, a difference between siblings, or a rule the family wants to think through. I am not a clinician; where a family needs clinical care, that stays with the clinicians they already have.
Who I work with
I have worked with young people and their families for the better part of a decade: with parents, often directly with the young person, and sometimes with their school. Most families come through a referral from a head of school, a clinician, a lawyer or another family. I also advise the leadership of schools, charities and research-led ed-tech teams. I keep the number of families small, and I do not work with companies whose product I could not explain to a sceptical parent.
Discretion
Everything is confidential. There are no testimonials, case studies or client lists. References can be arranged privately through people you already know.
A first conversation
The first conversation is a chance to tell me what is going on and to decide whether I am the right person to help. There is no obligation, and what you tell me stays between us. A young person’s safety comes first, and where it helps I work with the clinicians, school and advisers who already know your family.
