Advisory

A small amount of bespoke advisory work, by referral, for families and the institutions that support them.

What this is

A confidential, ongoing advisory relationship for families navigating the developmental questions that arise when children grow up inside digital and algorithmic environments. The work draws on the same training as my research — clinical and developmental psychology, augmented by close reading of the systems young people now live inside — but is private rather than published.

What it looks like in practice

Most engagements involve a small number of structured conversations across a year, with shorter exchanges between, organised around the questions a family or its advisors are actually living with: a child whose use of certain platforms has become a concern, a school transition that has revealed something the family had not seen, a sibling difference that is harder to read than it should be, a question about boundaries that the family wants to think through with someone who has read widely. The work is collaborative. I am not a clinician on call; I am a thinking partner with developmental and technological literacy.

Who I work with

I take on a small number of family engagements each year, almost entirely through referral from family offices, principal advisors, headteachers and heads of school, private clinicians, and lawyers. Some institutional work — quietly advising the leadership of a school, a charity, or a research-led ed-tech team — also fits here. I do not work with companies whose product I would not be able to explain to a sceptical parent.

Discretion

Engagements are confidential. There are no testimonials, no case studies, and no public client list. References are available privately, on request, through people you already trust.

Enquiries

If you are an existing referrer, please use the channels we already share. If you are a family or institution arriving here directly, the most useful first step is to write briefly through the contact page, mentioning the person who suggested I might be the right reader for your situation. Contact.
